Getzner Werkstoffe wins the ‘Austria's Leading Companies Vorarlberg’ award
Getzner Werkstoffe took first place in the ‘Large Companies’ category of the Austria's Leading Companies Award in Vorarlberg. ‘Die Presse’, Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) and the Kreditschutzverband von 1870 (KSV) were once again looking for the best performing companies in Austria this year. The jury's decision was based on a mix of key figures from the balance sheets of the past three years. The state winners from Vorarlberg were chosen on 7 October 2024 in Bregenz.Getzner Werkstoffe prevailed against numerous top Vorarlberg companies and secured first place in the ‘large companies’ category. This includes companies that generate an annual turnover of more than 50 million euros. In 2023, Getzner Werkstoffe achieved a turnover of 168 million euros. ‘We are very satisfied. The expansion and upgrading of railway lines for green mobility is the key issue, and our solutions are in demand worldwide. And not only in applications where vibration protection is obviously necessary. It's also increasingly about sustainability: long service life, extending the service life, less maintenance, resilience in general,’ says Jürgen Rainalter, Chief Executive Officer of Getzner Werkstoffe.Learn more (only available in German): https://www.diepresse.com/18940503/getzner-werkstoffe-reduziert-erschuetterungen
Isotop® DZE 3D - safety redefined
Discover our latest product innovation: the Isotop® DZE 3D. The innovative design ensures that horizontal forces are absorbed as reliably as compressive and tensile forces. It skilfully exploits these strengths, especially in challenging environments: The Isotop® DZE 3D fulfils seismic requirements and is the perfect solution for applications in the transport sector or for wind-exposed installations. Earthquake shocks and high accelerations are absorbed non-destructively by the Isotop® DZE 3D.

Getzner continues to expand recycling and material cycles
Bürs, Bludenz (AT): Getzner Werkstoffe acquired 60 per cent of the shares in Austrian plastics processor TecInn GmbH in August 2024. Last year, Getzner already founded its own company for circular material management: Getzner Circular Technologies GmbH. The stake in TecInn now brings additional expertise and capacities.
Chillventa 2024
Bürs (AT), Nuremberg (DE). Getzner Werkstoffe is presenting its comprehensive range of Isotop® machine mounts at this year's Chillventa. These insulate vibrations in heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems, effectively preventing disruptive humming in buildings. In addition, the Isotop® machine mounts reduce the noise level of HVAC equipment by up to 8 dBA. The brand new Isotop® DZE 3D, an innovative vibration damper that fulfils even the strictest earthquake requirements, will be presented for the first time.

Cooperation within the field of recycled elastomers
Bürs (AT). In January 2024, Getzner Werkstoffe Holding GmbH acquired 50% of the shares in Isolgomma Srl, a manufacturer of special products for sound insulation and vibration control based on recycled rubber. For Getzner, this is a further step towards sustainability and the support of material cycles.Getzner is leading in vibration protection in the railway, construction and industrial sectors and has a broad-based portfolio. Specially developed polyurethane-based materials such as Sylomer are characterised by a long service life, maintenance-free operation and long-term stable material properties. The in-house Isotop series also utilises the dynamic properties of steel springs for optimum vibration isolation. Products made from recycled elastomers will also be increasingly used in the future, for example when the ecological footprint plays a special role. "We want to offer customised solutions," says Jürgen Rainalter, Chief Executive Officer of Getzner. "In addition to technical performance, there are a whole range of other factors that we take into account in the respective configuration."

InnoTrans 2024
Buers (Austria), Berlin (Germany): Getzner Werkstoffe will present its vibration protection portfolio for the railway industry at InnoTrans 2024. Another key focus will be demonstrating the role the company’s applications can play in making railway operations more sustainable.Getzner Werkstoffe, the market leader in vibration isolation in the rail sector, will display its vibration and noise protection applications at InnoTrans from 24th to 27th September in Berlin. On our main stand in Hall 25 the focus will be the track superstructure, while in Hall 1.1. visitors will be able to see Getzner’s industrial solutions that carriage manufacturers can use to increase passenger comfort. Sustainability will be a central theme of the trade fair. Getzner views the current challenges of green mobility as an opportunity to sustainably improve the safety, cost effectiveness and environmental compatibility of rail networks. Sustainability and cost effectiveness go hand in handGetzner’s solutions for protecting the track superstructure reduce wear of the ballast and other components, as proven by real-time measurements taken by the sensor sleeper Getzner has developed, which will also be on show. “Our effective, targeted solutions protect the track superstructure and are also sustainable. Not only do they significantly reduce maintenance requirements and therefore the ecological footprint of the infrastructure, but they also extend its overall service life due to their durability,” explains Thomas Gamsjaeger, Senior Vice President Railway Division at Getzner. Numerous long-term studies have proven the effectiveness of Getzner’s solutions and how they increase the safety and reliability of railway lines. Reducing emissions: vibration and noise protectionGetzner will also be showcasing our extensive portfolio of highly efficient materials for vibration isolation at InnoTrans. These are used in a variety of different applications – including as under sleeper pads, under ballast mats, mass-spring systems and insertion pads for sleeper boots – to reduce the transmission of vibrations, particularly in the surrounding environment such as nearby buildings and property. However, it is not only vibrations and secondary airborne noise that come to the fore as a result of increasing railway traffic. Direct noise emissions also affect both neighbouring residents and the environment. Getzner takes this aspect into consideration when designing the overall concept and developing noise-reducing solutions.Highly effective bearings for greater comfort in rail carriagesEnsuring greater comfort and less noise when manufacturing rolling stock are also high priorities for passengers and train crew. Floating floors in rolling stock reduce movement-related vibrations and are used to decouple the driver’s cab and sensitive equipment. The highly effective Sylomer FR material from Getzner fully meets the requirements of the highest fire classification in accordance with DIN 45545-2, HL3, without the need for costly sandwich technology, saving time, weight and space when constructing carriages. Thanks to consistent material properties, it offers long-term protection for decades, which reduces maintenance requirements and increases the service life of rolling stock. Visitors can see these solutions first-hand on the second Getzner stand in Hall 1.1. Sustainable operation and recycled materialsSustainability is a key concern for Getzner, both in terms of the business as a whole and our products. As a vibration protection specialist Getzner invests in research into sustainable railway operations and material recycling. Speaking of the company’s orientation, Getzner CEO Juergen Rainalter says: “Our goal is to create and maintain closed loops in order to protect the environment while also ensuring the highest level of quality. The durability of our materials represents an enormous opportunity for reuse too.” Getzner has established a separate subsidiary for this business segment, whose products will be on display at InnoTrans 2024 for the first time.Getzner Werkstoffe at InnoTrans 2024Stand 330, Hall 25: Vibration isolation solutions on the track and track superstructure protectionStand 790, Hall 1.1: Interior solutions for increasing passenger comfortMore information: www.getzner.com/innotrans
