Heliport Hospital Interlaken
Highly effective decoupling against noise.
As part of the expansion of Interlaken Hospital, a heliport has been built on the roof of the new wing. Interlaken is a well-known tourist region in the Bernese Oberland that nestles among popular skiing and hiking destinations. The hospital therefore has to contend with regular landings, as patients are often admitted by helicopter.
Challenge
The new operating theatres are located directly below the helipad. Dynamic excitations can be caused as the helicopters take-off and land. These can have adverse effects on the sensitive work carried out in the hospital, particularly surgical procedures. Getzner was therefore commissioned to install elastic decoupling between the heliport and hospital building in order to effectively minimise these undesired vibrations.
The Getzner Solution
This particular problem was solved using the newly developed Getzner TFB XT. All the steelwork can be produced in advance in the factory, thus minimising the amount of work required on the construction site. Using TFB XT allows the vibration isolation measures to be tailored as precisely as possible to the static and dynamic requirements. The on-site installation was supervised and documented by skilled Getzner staff.
