Getzner congratulates the winners of the “Salzburger Holzbaupreis”
Two projects using Sylodyn® bearings from Getzner were awarded the Salzburger Holzbaupreis (timber construction award) at the end of January 2015. Firstly, the retirement home construction project in Hallein in the “residential building” category and secondly, the office building of the Maschinenring (an association for agricultural companies) in St. Johann im Pongau in the “commercial structure” category. The coveted prize is awarded every four years by the proHolz Salzburg association and the Chamber of Architects and Consulting Engineers for Upper Austria and Salzburg.
Sound insulation for modern timber constructions
The retirement home in Hallein, which was built using modular construction methods, is the first five-storey “timber module construction” and one of Austria's largest timber construction projects. Decoupling the individual modules with elastic intermediate layers reduces the flanking sound transmission, thereby ensuring a high level of sound insulation. The Maschinenring office building was designed using solid timber modular construction methods. To improve the sound insulation the victors used Sylodyn® above and below the ceilings. “We would like to congratulate the prizewinners and thank them for their confidence in our products. We are pleased that our solutions can make a significant contribution to improving the quality of living and working conditions in timber constructions,” adds Hendrik Reichelt, project manager at Getzner.
