Medical technology: Safety hallmark opens up new markets for Getzner

Getzner is deploying its versatile polyurethane raw materials with great effect in the medical technology sector. Once incorporated into orthopaedic underwear, protectors made from Sylomer® cushion the hip bones, preventing fractures to the neck of the femur and other injuries besides. The Swiss Council for Accident Protection (bfu) recently awarded the hip protectors the bfu safety hallmark. Before doing so, the Council carried out a special examination of the energy absorption and pressure distribution properties of the protectors.
