New Case Study: impact noise protection for lightweight stairs
The new case study describes how Getzner, together with the experts at Fuchs-Treppen, is effectively protecting the residents of a terraced housing complex near Munich from undesirable noise. The special solution for lightweight stairs serves as impact noise protection and its practical applications are presented in the brochure. A total of 26 residential units with 78 harp stairs made from wood and steel are benefitting from the effective measures.
Effective protection against noise
Elastically mounted flights of stairs significantly reduce the transfer of structure-borne noise to the surrounding residential units. For lightweight stairs, the contact points to the ceiling and the bearing points on the wall are elastically decoupled with the aid of Sylomer®. The stair bearings were developed by Getzner and its long-standing partner Fuchs-Treppen. They fulfil the strict requirements for enhanced impact noise protection according to VDI sound control level II (VDI Schallschutzstufe II), as proven by laboratory and acceptance tests.
