Further development for impact noise protection

Getzner showcases a new, cost-effective variant from its impact noise product line

Buers, Austria. From March, Getzner Werkstoffe will be bringing a new, more economical insulating mat designed to reduce disruptive noise onto the market: The Construction Mat CM GR 0525 is suitable for standard floors and can be used in commercial premises, industry, residential construction and public buildings. It is proven to reduce impact noise by at least 20 decibels.

When people move around in buildings, unpleasant noise is generally also spread to neighbouring rooms. "The Construction Mat CM GR 0525 from Getzner, made from recycled polyurethane, acts as impact noise insulation and provides an economical solution to this problem for all standard structures. The newly-developed mat is installed directly below the screed – either the wet or dry type – and brings more peace and quiet to the building. This allows people to work more effectively and concentrate better", explains Sebastian Wiederin, Product Manager at Getzner. An external test procedure confirms an impact noise improvement Lnw of 20 dB in accordance with ISO 717-2. The insulating mat is particularly well suited to buildings in the public, commercial, industrial and private sectors and will be available from 2 March 2015.

Easy to cut to size and install

After months of research, Getzner is expanding its product range with a cost-effective impact noise insulation solution that is easy to install, in the form of the new Construction Mat CM GR 0525. Getzner has previously set new benchmarks in impact noise insulation with the CM ER 0725 and CM ER 1050 insulating mats. The new Construction Mat CM GR 0525 rounds off the product range of efficient impact noise protection solutions in a logical manner and can be used in commercial, residential and public buildings such as hospitals and homes for senior citizens, fitness centres or hotels. The mat is only eight millimetres thick and its low installation height makes it particularly well suited to conversion and renovation projects.

Hard-wearing and easy to handle

The Construction Mat CM GR 0525, made from polyurethane (PU) to a Getzner formula, will withstand peak loads for decades – as confirmed by independent test institutes – and is completely free from softeners, guaranteeing a high level of durability. The economical insulating mat is easy to install and cut to size, saving time on the construction site. What is more, the Construction Mat CM GR 0525 is a sustainable product: "It is made from 100 percent recycled material and exemplifies Getzner's environmental consciousness", says Sebastian Wiederin, concluding his explanation.
