New product range for impact noise insulation - Acoustic Floor Mat

Buers (AT). The new Acoustic Floor Mat from Getzner provides impact noise protection in the standard flooring found in commercial premises, industrial, residential and public buildings. It has been shown to reduce noise levels by up to 33 decibels. The product range includes five different types and replaces the present Construction Mat line.

Whenever people are working or moving around in a building, their footsteps generate what is known as impact noise, which is transmitted to neighbouring rooms. The Acoustic Floor Mat is a vibration-isolating mat that suppresses the impact noise in the floor. It can be used in supermarkets, hotels, large kitchens, fitness studios as well as in production halls and warehouses. The new, expanded product range represents an enhancement of the Construction Mat and can also be placed directly underneath both wet and dry screeds. "It suppresses shocks and vibrations and makes the building much quieter", explains Sebastian Wiederin, Product Manager at Getzner.

Two more performance categories
Now featuring five different product types (AFM 21, AFM 23, AFM 26, AFM 31 and AFM 33), the new Acoustic Floor Mat boasts rates of impact noise reduction of between 21 and 33 dB, even though it’s just a few millimetres thick. The two new types – AFM 23 and AFM 26 – achieve rates of impact noise reduction of 23 and 26 dB respectively and are made entirely from recycled material. "The wide choice available with the various types means we can offer the right solution for every situation. The Acoustic Floor Mat is cost-efficient vibration protection that is easy to install and will resist peak loads for decades," emphasises Sebastian Wiederin. The mats are designed for loads of up to 5,000 kg/m2 and even when subjected to high loads exhibit very little deflection.

Top marks for low interior emissions
Getzner does not use any softeners, so another benefit of the odour-free Acoustic Floor Mat is that it does not emit any volatile substances into the air in the interior; the elasticity of the mat is derived entirely from the pore structure of the material. Official tests reveal that the elastic floor bearing achieves the highest interior air quality classification of A+.
