Floating floors for rolling stock for trains running on the Tren Maya railway (MX)
Vibration protection for greater comfort and longer service life
The Tren Maya railway line is located in Mexico and covers a distance of over 1500 kilometres. The line connects various culturally important Mayan tourist sites, as well as towns and beaches. From mid-2024, the trains running on this railway line will transport goods and around three million people per year to 20 destinations in an environmentally friendly way. Getzner materials provide reduced noise levels and lower vibrations, meaning greater travelling comfort for passengers. Those travelling in sleeping and dining carriages are also guaranteed a pleasant journey.
The challenge
- Reliably reduce vibrations and noise levels
- High fire protection standards
- Fast delivery
The Getzner solution
With an optimised design, the floor panels in the 219 required carriages were installed on around 8000 elastic Sylomer FR strips. These guarantee reliable vibration protection for the lowest possible cost, with the added advantage of low weight and minimum installation height. This ensures the highest levels of comfort for passengers, as well as prolonging the service life of the carriage: effectively reducing vibrations protects joints, electronic components and sanitary facilities. Life cycle costs are reduced. The simple installation of the elastomer strips also has a positive impact on production costs.
The advantages for you
- Greater passenger comfort thanks to reduced noise levels in the carriage
- Lower life cycle costs due to reduced wear
- Fast mounting with tolerance compensation during installation
- More space available due to lower installation height
- Maximum safety with EN 45545-2 certification
We know from experience that noise levels inside the carriages are reduced by up to 7 dBA and vibrations are reduced by more than 20 dB. We’re delighted that Alstom opted for our vibration reduction solutions to protect the environment inside the carriages.
