Korea Rail Network Authority opts for Getzner

Getzner is protecting the twin-track high-speed line in South Korea's Honam region against vibrations. A 250 kilometre length of track was laid down between Osong station in Cheongwon County and Songjeong station in Gwanju during the first construction phase. Approximately 200 kilometres of this section was resiliently bedded using Sylodyn® baseplate pads. Byrel Fastening Systems – the Chinese-Austrian joint venture under the majority ownership of Getzner – shipped roughly 1.1 million baseplate pads from China to South Korea between 2013 and 2014. A completion date for the project was set for end of this year. The Korea Rail Network Authority aims to open the new line at the beginning of 2015.
