The Königsplatz is the most important traffic junction in Augsburg, with a large number of trams and buses passing through it every day. The square has recently been rebuilt so that it will be completely free of obstacles in the future. To ensure the surrounding residential and business premises are not exposed to unwanted vibrations, the project managers equipped all the trackwork with the proven mass-spring system from Getzner. This solution decouples the track superstructure from its surroundings, reducing the transmission of vibrations and structure-borne noise.

The client, Leonhard Weiss GmbH & Co KG, placed the order with Getzner. "For years, mass-spring systems from Getzner have been the preferred standard solution for Stadtwerke Augsburg. With the help of a well thought-out delivery schedule and our specific consulting services, we were able to ensure that there were no costly downtimes and that we could keep the installation phase as short as possible," reports Sascha Reuter, Getzner's project manager in Grünwald. Installation of the 9,000 m2 vibration-isolating system took place between June 2012 and May 2013.
