Modernising the Berlin State Opera with Sylodyn®
The largest-ever renovation project in the 250-year history of the Berliner Staatsoper Unter den Linden [Berlin State Opera] has been underway since 2010. One of the main goals of the works is to improve the building's acoustic properties. So that the opera audience may enjoy perfect acoustics during the performances, materials from Getzner have been used in the new roof construction and the ultra-modern rehearsal centre – and will soon ensure a sublime operatic experience.
On the one hand, Getzner used Sylodyn® to completely decouple the rope drives for the modernized splitter technology. On the other hand, thousands of elastic Sylodyn® point bearings now also protect the floors of the sample center from structure-borne noise transmission to the adjacent rooms. Getzner made an important contribution not only with the high-tech material, but also with special calculations in advance and the bearing dimensions. The reopening is imminent.
