World first: ABAI angle bracket with sound insulation
Ceiling constructions in timber construction, the topic of sound transmission via flanks is also becoming increasingly important. In a joint innovation project, Getzner and Simpson Strong-Tie® (SST) - the world market leader in innovative connectors for load-bearing timber structures - have taken up the new challenge and addressed this problem: the result is the new ABAI angle connector for efficient sound insulation in timber construction.
"The ABAI angle connector sets new standards: In contrast to conventional angle connectors, the integrated insulation layer made of Sylomer® prevents the formation of sound bridges. It prevents sound transmission via the flanks," says Hendrik Reichelt, product manager at Getzner, summarizing the product advantages. The special angle connector - distributed by SST - not only enables a statically supporting connection between wooden wall and ceiling elements. With its insulating layer of Sylomer®, the ABAI angle connector also ensures highly efficient sound decoupling.
"Our aim is to make wood connections safer, more stable and more efficient. Thanks to Getzner's expert knowledge and innovative spirit, we have been able to expand our product range and thus make a significant contribution to sound insulation in timber construction", explains Frank Richter, Product Manager at SST. This solution saves time and costs on the construction site, as it eliminates the need for facing formwork.
