Bürs (AT). In January 2024, Getzner Werkstoffe Holding GmbH acquired 50% of the shares in Isolgomma Srl, a manufacturer of special products for sound insulation and vibration control based on recycled rubber. For Getzner, this is a further step towards sustainability and the support of material cycles.
Getzner is leading in vibration protection in the railway, construction and industrial sectors and has a broad-based portfolio. Specially developed polyurethane-based materials such as Sylomer are characterised by a long service life, maintenance-free operation and long-term stable material properties. The in-house Isotop series also utilises the dynamic properties of steel springs for optimum vibration isolation. Products made from recycled elastomers will also be increasingly used in the future, for example when the ecological footprint plays a special role. "We want to offer customised solutions," says Jürgen Rainalter, Chief Executive Officer of Getzner. "In addition to technical performance, there are a whole range of other factors that we take into account in the respective configuration."
Isolgomma is a pioneer in the industrial recycling of rubber and has been operating successfully on the European market for more than 50 years. "Isolgomma offers an attractive range, particularly in the area of sound insulation, which complements our solutions in the field of building acoustics. On the other hand, there are areas of application where our polyurethane-based materials offer clear advantages," says Alexander Herovitsch, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Getzner. "We know and appreciate Getzner for its expertise and high quality standards," confirms Michele Grazioli, General Manager of Isolgomma. "We are therefore very pleased about this cooperation. Together we can offer our customers solutions that are convincing as an integrated overall concept."
The family-run company Isolgomma uses patented processes for recycling and emission-free production at its headquarters near Vicenza, Italy. The products have a recycling share of over 90% and make a positive contribution to the environmental footprint. The company's own laboratories and testing facilities in cooperation with the University of Padua are used for research and the continuous further development of technology and the product range. "The consistent focus on preserving resources and on recycling also suits us perfectly," emphasises Rainalter. "Sustainability is a firm pillar of Getzner's growth strategy: this means CO2-neutral production, extending the service life and recycling materials. All of this makes a positive contribution to our eco-balance - for us and for our customers.
Getzner and Isolgomma will continue to operate independently on the markets and are endeavouring to work together as partners. The exact form of the co-operation is currently being worked out.
