New vibration protection for fire-prone areas

Buers, Austria Sylomer® FR is a new vibration-isolating material that prevents unwanted vibrations. The special feature of this material, which has been developed by Austrian vibration specialists Getzner Werkstoffe, is that its fire-retardant properties mean it also provides effective protection against vibrations in fire-prone areas.

In response to market requirements, Getzner has developed a range of fire-retardant materials for various application areas in order to protect people, buildings and other structures effectively from both vibrations and fire. "Issues relating to fire protection and sustainable construction are becoming increasingly important during the installation of vibration-isolating solutions. Fire-retardant materials are now in demand, as requirements all over the world with regard to fire protection are becoming more stringent", explains Andreas Augustin, Head of Research & Development at Getzner Werkstoffe, adding, "The new Sylomer FR material effectively isolates unwanted vibrations – thanks to its fire-retardant properties even in fire-prone environments."
