Buers/Austria. In 2014, Getzner Werkstoffe posted an overall turnover in the region of 70 million euros. The manufacturer of vibration protection solutions thereby increases its annual turnover from last year by approximately eight per cent. The company puts these good results down to the continuous development of the three business areas of rail, construction and industry, as well as innovations within its product portfolio. France will see its own branch opened in 2015.
Getzner, one of the world's leading specialists in the field of vibration protection, can look back on a successful business year. In 2014 the company achieved overall sales of 70.3 million euros, representing an increase of just under 8 per cent over the previous year. "Our growth of around 25 percent in the western European markets has contributed considerably to this success. Business has been going particularly well in Scandinavia, Italy and Eastern Europe, which we attribute to the more intensive market cultivation. This has enabled us to further strengthen our market presence, and the planned establishment of a location in France is one of the ways this trend will continue," explains Juergen Rainalter, CEO of Getzner. He adds: "For 2015 we plan to further expand our worldwide distributor partner network and increase our international sales team."
In 2014 the US location's business development also lay far above expectations, even though it had only started operating in 2013. This top performance on the US market was recognised by the Austrian Trade Commission on 20th February 2015 by awarding Getzner the Economy Oscar in its Trendsetter category.
All three of Getzner's business areas (rail, construction and industry) are on course for growth. According to the executive management, Getzner has its sights set on becoming the market and innovation leader in all three areas. Prestigious projects such as a major order to supply the rail vehicle manufacturer Hitachi with floating floors for rolling stock confirm the company's approach in the industry business area. Areas of application are diverse, ranging from elastically separated floors for carriages to vibration protection for MRI equipment for medical diagnosis. The construction sector, including the specialist field of timber construction, has become more and more important in recent years. Vibration protection solutions exist for floors, flanking elements such as ceilings and walls, or for entire buildings. Getzner's construction business area counts as one of its highlights of 2014 the vibration protection it implemented for the Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo. Among the previous year's highly acclaimed rail projects are the vibration protection for the Gotthard Base Tunnel, the world's longest railway tunnel, or the French high-speed line LGV Est.
Getzner has great plans for 2015: "We will further expand our international presence. In order to bring our employees even closer to the customer, we are for instance soon opening a sales location in France. In China we focus on the rail business area, particularly standard-gauge railways, heavy goods transport and local rail. To ensure the company's success into future, we are also challenging ourselves internally: we are adapting our solutions step-by-step to meet new challenges and streamline processes in all areas. We will also continue to develop and cultivate our corporate culture and entrepreneurial spirit," concludes Juergen Rainalter.
