Buers, Austria. In September 2016, three young people will start their apprenticeships at Getzner Werkstoffe in Buers. A total of eleven apprentices are currently employed at the company, in roles ranging from laboratory technician, metal technician, industrial management assistant and IT technician. Some of the apprenticeships are also structured according to the rotation method.
On 1 September 2016, three new apprentices will arrive for their first day at Getzner in Buers. Lena Breuss, aged 20, and Fabienne Mueller, aged 18, are being trained as laboratory technicians by the vibration protection expert in Buers. Paul Abentung, aged 16 and an aspiring metal technician, will also be working for Getzner. In addition to the three new apprentices, Getzner is currently training eight other young people as skilled laboratory technicians, metal technicians, industrial management assistants and IT technicians. “Once again, our apprenticeships are generating a great deal of interest among young people this year. We are delighted to welcome Lena, Fabienne and Paul to our team,” says Bernd Laengle, head of HR at Getzner Werkstoffe.
Depending on the apprenticeship, some apprentices will be completing a rotation course to ensure that they gain a comprehensive insight into the various fields of work at Getzner. This means that the apprentices will spend several months at a time working in different company departments, allowing them to form an impression of which areas interest them the most. “Our rotation method enables young people to learn about the company from a wide range of perspectives whilst also offering a great deal of variety in their work. They acquire wide-ranging knowledge, establish many social contacts and quickly become part of the Getzner family. All our apprentices have the opportunity to remain with the company after the end of their apprenticeship and continue their development. Their expertise is a valuable asset to the company,” explains Bernd Laengle.
