Point bearings for buildings
As well as the full-surface bearing of a building, Sylomer® and Sylodyn® can also be used for discrete bearings. Several different factors are taken into consideration when choosing the correct solution. These include the foundation, the total mass to be bedded and the required natural frequency. With computerised modelling, Getzner can precisely determine the levels of vibrations that can be anticipated in the building. If the vibrations or noise levels are higher than the defined thresholds, vibration isolation of the structure can be an effective way of achieving the desired result.
Pile foundations are usually bedded using discrete bearings. The bearing area is adjusted using additional pile heads in order to create the optimum specific load for the selected bearing material.
